ABOUT

Hi! I'm Harmonie Nielsen. (Ms Harmonie to most around here.) I'm a mom of 5 in my 15th year homeschooling. This is my 4th year teaching classes as Verdant Minds Academy, and I love it! I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University, and a master's degree in Learning and Technology.  I taught in the public schools (preschoolers through middle schoolers) before we started our homeschool journey. Some things I'm passionate about: I believe kids should have access to a variety of art supplies. I think there are many forms of assessment, and a worksheet/test is not required for every lesson. I LOVE maps and I'll share my passion for geography with anyone who will listen. I can often be found wearing a cardigan and sipping on a soda.
